Vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for a Volunteer Support Worker (Rainbow Lives
Muslim Women’s Project)
download details here.
Patron
Rainbow Lives are pleased to announce we have Christine May, MSP
for Central Fife,
as our first Patron.
Pilot Project
We are presently working on a pilot project recording the oral testimonies
from Elderly Chinese, Muslim Women, and Polish children in their own
language. These recordings will be translated into English and archived in
Fife Council Archives where they will be available for anyone wishing to
hear the stories.
Cookery Demonstrations
We are also holding a cookery demonstration in conjunction with Adam Smith
College where women from different nationalities will present a dish from
their native country for tasting. A booklet will be available charting the
history of the dish, when it is eaten, traditional ingredients used etc. and
information from the event will also be archived.
Do you have a story to tell?
Is there information about you and your family’s experiences, in the past,
which you would like to pass on to future generations?
Rainbow
Lives feels it is very important to have your stories recorded and saved so
people can learn today, and future generations can learn about their
heritage in years to come. We would like people to record their stories in
their own language and we will archive them for future generations.
These stories will also be transcribed into
English so others can learn about your history, customs, songs, poems etc.
Recordings will be made at a time and place suitable to you.
We are looking for people interested in
telling their stories and also for people of any age who are interested in
carrying out the interviews. No experience is necessary as we will train you
in the use of recording equipment and interviewing techniques.
If you would
like to find out more please contact Colm at FRAE. 01592 204005.
