An oral history project for minority groups in Fife

“Oral history gives history back to the people in their own words - and in giving a past, it also helps towards a future of their own making.”
Paul Thompson- ’The Voice of the Past ’

We Offer
An exciting new approach to involving communities in recording and archiving their stories for future generations. The use of oral history as a tool in the creation of racial understanding and tolerance should not be underrated.

Our Vision
To create a Publicly accessible sound archive library in Fife that will value the individual and will LISTEN to what they say. Our project proposes to secure and establish in Fife, the first publicly accessible, multi-media, oral history sound archive of minority ethnic residents in Fife.

Our Aims
We will initiate training and workshops programmes that will unite communities in a common cause, to record and document oral testimonies that will provide an important archival resource for posterity. It is a way of handing down experiences of one generation to another. It is valuable information that should not be lost.
